Ross Nicholls

Chairman / Director

Ross joined Brisbane Marine Pilots Pty Ltd in 2005 and was first appointed to the Board in 2007 and again in 2012. Following 13 years at sea, Ross diversified into the maritime industry undertaking a variety of roles in both Australia and abroad. These roles included Ship Chartering and Broking, Marine Superintendency and Harbour towage. Ross has had broad experience in the commercial maritime sector and is a member of Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI), the Nautical Institute (NI) and the Australian Institute of Company of Directors (AICD).

Chris Cline

Deputy Chairman / Director

Chris joined Brisbane Marine Pilots Pty Ltd in 2002 and was appointed Manager Safety in 2004 then General Manager from 2005 to 2010. He was appointed to the Board in 2013. He started his seagoing career in 1978 and progressed through to ship’s master. Chris has management experience in a number of ports which included bulk loading and discharge, stevedoring, general cargo, port maintenance, agency, towage and pilotage operations. He holds a ship’s Master Certificate of Competency and a Graduate Diploma in Business (Port and Terminal Management). Chris is a member of Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI), the Nautical Institute (NI) and the Australian Institute of Company of Directors (AICD).

Doug Williams

Managing Director

Doug joined Brisbane Marine Pilots Pty Ltd in 2005 and has served the organisation as a Director in addition to his role as a pilot. Following a career at sea Doug commenced Piloting in North QLD prior to moving to Brisbane. Doug has developed a broad knowledge of the maritime industry and holds a Bachelor of Business, Diploma of Nautical Science, is a member of the Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). In 2014 Doug was appointed Managing Director.

Nicolas Fischer

Director

Nic joined Brisbane Marine Pilots Pty Ltd in 2004 and was first appointed to the board in 2007 and again in 2013. Nic began his seagoing career in 1984 with ASP, where he completed his masters with tanker, gas and chemical endorsements. Nic then joined Exxon Mobil in 1997, where he was employed as a pilot and loading master, with specific responsibilities in the areas of tug/launch crew management and oil-spill response. He then worked as a pilot overseas in the offshore oil and gas industry. Since serving on the board from 2007 to 2009, Nic has gained his check-pilot experience and has become a training officer at BMP whilst externally working as a consultant in port infrastructure design. Nic also held a position on the board of the Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI) from 2011 to 2013.

Greg Sinclair

Director

Greg joined Brisbane Marine Pilots Pty Ltd in 2003 and was appointed to the Board in 2014. Prior to joining BMP, Greg worked as a pilot in North Queensland, from 1997, and held licenses for Abbot Point, Mackay and Hay Point. Prior to becoming a pilot Greg served as a ships officers in world wide trades for companies both foreign and domestic. He first sailed as Master in 1995 and held several pilotage exemptions. He has a Diploma in Nautical Science, a Graduate Diploma in Business and Master Mariner Class 1. Greg is a member of Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Roma Pregarc

Company Secretary

Roma was appointed by the Board in 2012. Her corporate expertise has been gained through working within various industries including State and Local Government, international trading, legal, finance, hospitality and media, as well as owning and operating a successful sports centre overseas. Reporting to the Chairman, she is responsible for Board and Shareholder related matters, strategic planning, governance and regulatory compliance management. Roma is studying at Griffith University to obtain a Degree for a Bachelor of Business with an award major in Event Management and a second major in Management. She holds a Certificate in Governance Practice, is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified), a Committee Member of the Griffith University Indigenous Student Association, a Member of the Governance Institute of Australia, and a Member of the Queensland Justices Association.
